If you're gearing up to embark on a new fitness journey, it's probably because you have a fitness goal in mind that you want to accomplish. Be it weight loss, muscle gain, or even just being able to run a mile — it's important to clearly establish your goals in order to stay motivated and on track.
Get specific with your goal. For example, if you want to lose 20 pounds your goal isn't to 'lose weight,' it's to lose 20 pounds! State that; write it down. The purpose of a goal is to achieve it by working hard and staying dedicated. That being said, your goal should be realistic.
Also, set a time frame for your goal. Don't beat yourself up if you don't 100% succeed — that's not the point — the point is to stay focused. Track your progress not only for the purpose of staying organized, but also as encouragement. If losing 20 pounds is your goal, you'll feel ecstatic when you see your numbers go down.
